What Sets Us Apart: American Legion NYC Police Post 460

Established on November 11, 1919, and officially recognized as a line organization by the NYPD on August 31, 1920, American Legion NYC Police Post 460 ("AL460") holds a unique place in history. Our membership proudly comprises active and retired New York City Officers (NYPD).

At AL460, we believe in the power of fraternal unity to continue advancing our mission of supporting veterans and their families. We are dedicated to providing leadership, both on an individual and organizational level, guided by the principles of Loyalty, Encouragement, Advocacy, Duty, Education, Respect, Service, Honor, and Perseverance. 

We take pride in being the Finest of the Finest within the New York Police Department, and our commitment extends beyond camaraderie. Through mentorship and advocacy, we unite veterans within the NYPD, fostering leadership that will benefit veterans of today and tomorrow. Join us in making a difference in the lives of those who have served our nation.
